Won Third Place

Last night SCPC announced the winners of the first photography contest:

I found out today that my photo below came in Third Place! I am so surprised and happy.

"Most Interesting Photo" contest

The photography club that I belong to is holding their first photo contest. The theme is, "most interesting photo I have taken."

I immediately thought of this one because it is so visually stimulating, and the little cutie, "N" is so adorable.

This photo was taken right after my first session ever, the kids were playing on the playground and I was talking to mom. "N" went down the slide and this is what happened when she got to the bottom. It was definately one of the "right place at the right time" photos...

Little lost girl

I was recently lucky enough to spend some time with my friend Sarah and her dog Darby.

They have a special relationship because Darby was rescued from the streets in the San Diego area by a dog rescue.

As you can see, she has now totally bonded with Sarah and the two of them are so good together.

Summer Silhouette

This photo is special to me for a few reasons. It will always remind me of the summer of 2011 when my six year old boy was on the verge of losing his first baby teeth and one month away from entering first grade. The last year was a very difficult year for our family as we lost two family members to illness. On the day the photo was taken, we had family visiting from the east coast, and we were having such a wonderful summer day. It reminds me that there is beauty in life even during hard times.
